Learn All About Me!
I teach Developmental Kindergarten in Charlotte, Michigan, which means that I have the opportunity to impact the youngest learners! I love seeing my students' eyes light up when they experience something new and amazing. I am so excited to begin my third year of teaching. This is Remy, named after the main character in the movie Ratatouille! He is a year and a half old. He loves to try new foods, such as fruits and vegetables! His absolute favorites are cherries and peas.
This is Jackson! He is 12 years old. He is a Black Lab and German Shorthair Pointer mix. His favorite activities are sleeping, walks, and boat rides. I love this picture because it is from his first day in his forever home last summer!
Here is my family. I am on the left, then my mom, dad, and sister!
Some people think my sister and I look like twins, but she is really two years older than me. We are best friends and talk everyday, even though she now lives in Wisconsin. Fun fact: my mom is also a teacher! I love spending time on Crooked Lake up in Oden, Michigan. My family spends a lot of time on the water kayaking, sailing, boating, and fishing! On the right, you can see the lakefront. What a gorgeous view!

I am a third generation Spartan on both sides of my family! Growing up I always knew that I wanted to go to Michigan State University due to both the family traditions and the fun outings to campus. Above you can see me with my pal, Sparty. Go Green!
I graduated from Michigan State University in August 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Child Development and a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. After completing my degrees, I completed my student teaching internship at Okemos Public Montessori in order to earn my Michigan Teaching Certificate. I will be graduating from MSU's Master's of Arts in Education program with a concentration in Literacy Education in August 2019. I'm a member of the National Officer's Conference for my music fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota. Above is a picture from National Convention last summer, where I was elected to my position.
I love to sing! I have been a member of a choir for nearly my whole life. It brings me so much joy to create beautiful music. I currently sing in a community choir with my mom. My students really enjoy when I find ways to bring music into our classroom, either through movement activities or singing together. I hope to learn ukulele or guitar someday and share that in my classroom as well! |
